Provide an example of experimental, quasi-experimental, and nonexperimental research from the GCU Library and explain how each research type differs from the others. When replying to peers, evaluate the effectiveness of the research design of the study for two of the examples provided.
The difference between experimental research and non-experimental research is that experimental uses a scientific approach towards manipulating one or more control variables of the research subject(s) and measuring the effect of this manipulation on the subject. On the other hand, non-experimental research does not involve the manipulation of control or independent variable. In non-experimental research, researchers measure variables as they naturally occur without any further manipulation. Further on, whereas in true experiment, participants are randomly assigned to either the treatment or the control group, they are not assigned randomly in a quasi-experiment.
